Redshirt, were you the fellow from Starfleet that I saw this past Saturday or is your name a reference to a different type of red shirt?

Tou know, if you think it through, and know the parade route, you can set up in front of it like 4 times without working too hard at it. 5 if you really have some energy and the desire to run a bit.

Grouser: Yes, I am that redshirt.
Sir Trevor: I started at the beginning of the route, ducked up Hot Kiss Lane and down Gerk's Trail, etc to where the parade goes through the area near the joust field, back up through the food court and town square to be by the Cottage Stage, then up Fairy Dust Lane to Queen's road to catch them by Harmony Stage.
I only ran part of each leg.

Grouser: Yes, I am that redshirt. Heh, I was the spineless constable at Saturdays peasant trial that made you juror #1!

Lad, we have got to teach you the shortcuts for parade. The trick is to catch them by first aid. Then head them off near the stumbell stage by cutting in front of the rose booth. After that you can saunter to the blacksmith's area and catch it again. Then you wander back to where the foam swordfights and ponies are. After that, just walk past the ponies and axe throwing booth and catch them at the drift inn. A robust fellow can then hustle back past the pirate camp through the faerie forest and catch them a the wench well. And next year, I really think you should consider a big starfleet pirate coat.

Is parade so boring that yall choose to make a game of it or do you really find it so entertaining that you just have to see us walk by as many times as possible?

Is parade so boring that yall choose to make a game of it or do you really find it so entertaining that you just have to see us walk by as many times as possible? in years past, I used to do it in order to be able to catch everything in the parade. This year, I am sad to say, one passing is usually enough. To be clear, I am not faulting anyone in the parade. You all do a great job of waving and making comments as you pass. It's just the parade isn't what it used to be. There just isn't as much in it any more.

Capt. Morgan: I wish I could, but Scotty was busy drinking. nm1997: I'm glad you approve. Grouser: GUILTY! GUILTY! GUILTY! 'sok... although I think it would be fun to be tagged as the witch... Blueguy: I know a couple of those... I just didn't get the idea to get in front multiple times until i was already situated at the front, so I couldn't get to the Stumbull Inn area without walking right through the parade. As far as the pirate coat... dunno about that, since it tends to be pretty hot during Faire season... but I am working on a Star Trek-themed pirate outfit for next year. Avis: In this case I was trying to get a good picture of each cast group in the parade, plus video. The 4th pass was just for fun since several people had started making transporter jokes by the 3rd pass.

For me it helps to know where you are and where you will be next so I am not at that point. Parade tends to coincide with my "just arrived, how are you" lap. It's easier to catch up when i'm not being marched around. A parade seems like a fine thing. Lot's of the patrons like it, the kids like it. I just don't get much out of watching folks march by.
