I am still deciding what to bring. I want to do something different this year. But if I can't come up with something, it will be brownies and peanutbutter cookies again.

Cool.
The 10-day forecast looks good at the moment but since those tend to be about as useful as a screen door on a submarine, I feel compelled to ask - is this party rain or shine?

Yes. It is rain or shine. We use a cabin at the park, so the elements aren't really an issue. If it is cold, then we get a fire going in the fireplace (one inside, and one outside). there are also restrooms a few steps from the cabin, so that is not an issue either.
Really is an awesome place for something like this.

GROUSER. What the Hell is a Peaseful Pastures Clambake? Never heard of it, and have no clue where it takes place There are a zillion things going on that day. Huntsburg has their Pumpkin Festival. There is even a car show going on at the IX-Center, with Chip Foose there. Hell, if I weren't hosting this party I would be tempted to go to that just to meet Chip. SO! If you can make it, would luv to have ya there. HANK.

GROUSER. What the Hell is a Peaseful Pastures Clambake? Never heard of it, and have no clue where it takes place GLMF just sent out an email reminder about it this week. Think it benefits a horse rescue or something like that. Not sure, as I deleted the email.

Yeah, that's it - a fundraiser for a horse rescue place. I had asked because it appears GLMF is promoting it so I wasn't sure if this was something that might have created an unfortunate overlap in demographics or something. Here's the e-mail: A Clam Bake in Wine Country, on Sat. Oct. 1st...Hello to the Friends of the Great Lakes Medieval Faire, The kids are back in school, football season has started, jackets and sweaters are coming out of the closets - Autumn is officially here. And it simply wouldn't be Autumn in Ohio without a Clam Bake! Peaceful Pastures Horse Rescue, a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and care for injured or older horses, is hosting a "Clam Bake in Wine Country" benefit on Saturday, October 1st (that's next Saturday!) at 4:00pm. Take a drive (or motorcycle ride!) out to the country and take in all the beautiful fall foliage. Visit some wineries, stop by a roadside stand for pumpkins and apple cider, enjoy the outdoors before (dare we say it) the snow starts to fly. The Clambake is at the farm in Madison - there will be food, a cash bar for beer, wine and liquor; hay rides, instant bingo, and a live band. Kids are welcome! This is a great way to have a fun day in the country and raise money for a good cause. For details, directions, more information or to order tickets, please check out the Peaceful Pastures Horse Rescue website ( www.peacefulpastureshr.com/ ) - the Clambake information is on the main page, as well as a link to the flyer. Or you can call (440) 667-0066 for more information. We look forward to seeing you there! -Peaceful Pastures Horse Rescue -the Great Lakes Medieval Faire

I'm not much of a cook (still deciding whether my latest attempt at a roast is fit for the dog or not) so I was thinking of bringing a bucket of chicken or maybe some bakery cupcakes or something. Any suggestions?

Grouser. Don't worry about it if you're not a world class chef. Just bring a bucket of KFC, or a pizza, whatever. This gang will pretty much eat anything.
HANK.
