Yeah. Meeting every other week.
Though a few extra people in the audience wouldn't hurt just to let them know we haven't forgotten. We don't need to bring anything up, or even speak. Just let our presence be felt.

Alas, I'm not going to be able to attend. Also, Scott will not make it either, he's been battling a raging sinus infection and having some reactions to the meds........trust me, driving is totally out of the question for him right now!!!!

The meeting went as expected, they denied, denied, denied, and back tracked and circled. They pulled the "contact the prosecutors' office." line and when they were called on the carpet over that they, and by they I mean Tamburrino, refused to "interperate" they meaning of "transient vendor" as set forth by the ORC. They also approved another $8000.00 for legal fees to continue the litigation. They admit that the monies for the legal fees are coming from the general fund and the fire dept. but refuse to admit that they have used any tax payer dollars. Tamburrino also denied having any professional relationship with the private attorney but we have paperwork that proves otherwise so there was more deceptions on their part. there was an "ok" showing from the faire freinds but we need to show better unity, there's strength in numbers. I know it's difficult to make the time to be at the meetings and I appreciate all that everyone has done and continues to do. I also appreciate all the offers of help with my campaign and we will begin the process very soon, I just need to gather a few more hard facts to present to the people of the township.

yes they did side step where they could. we need to be prepared with specific things or they will dance around everything and throw it back at us.. I was hoping for a larger turn out but John and I will be there when we can. Any help needed we will try to help as much as possible.

isn't the fire dept and general fund ALL taxpayer dollars? and how can they use money earmarked for the fire dept for litigation fees?

ALL their money, no matter what they call it goes into one account, therefore, there is no way they can prove that they HAVEN'T been using tax dollars, it's known as co-mingling of funds. Their general fund is tax dollars, the fire and ambulane money is from tax levies, their road fund is from taxes and grants and it's all mixed in one account. They can move money around from certain areas but the fire/ambulance monies cannot be used for anything else according to the state.

From what I have gathered from my research so far, they have 2 distinct types of money (both kept in the same account) General fund. Special revenue fund.
The General Fund is basically what they collect in property tax, and get with no strings from other government agencies. The Special revenue fund comes from Road and Bridge levy, Gasoline Tax , Fire Levy, and Ambulance Levy. These monies are supposed to be kept separate and used only for what they are collected for.
But, since all are kept in the same account, it is hard to know exactly where what money is actually supposed to go, and where it has actually gone. And when you consider that the special revenue (you know, the stuff that is supposed to be earmarked for specific things) is about 4/5 of their total budget. Then it is hard to imagine that all this money for litigation is coming solely from the general fund.
