You would really never believe the faire songs you will find in YouTube! It's been my post-faire remedy for a while =P
I've messaged with a few of you about whatnot, and I miss everyone! I recently visited Cayenne...in as much as one can, but It feels like she would appreciate it, so when in the area (Perry) you should visit too.
I've got grand plans for faire personally, and you never know, I may be at PenRen too! I'm also thinking of doing Tennessee in 2010, we shall see I suppose. It depends.
So in a matter of forum posting; What does everyone else do to cure the post-faire blues? I'm open to new ideas, and I know that the best cure is probably meeting with your faire friends, but besides that option, what do you do?
Love and Happy Christmas! Emily

Hey There FJ,, Well for starters, a themed dinner get together such as feasts to cure,(only temp) for post faire blues.
After a few seasons, you'll naturally adjust and look forward to gathering with the same friends for the above gatherings.
Always always stay in contact with those FF..faire friends.. Any one else want to their comments out-feel free to.
Merry Christmas to All and to all Good Nite!

Hey! Merry Christmas!!!!!!
Thanks for stopping to visit with Steph/Kayenne. She deffinatly WOULD......and, somehow, somewhere, does......appreciate it. I really miss her, especially now with the holidays. She loved Christmas.
As to your question.....aside from the friends getting together thing, this board is my main thing for staving off the No-Faire blues! Spending a little time up here daily makes it seem as if Faire never quite ended......keeps me in touch as well as providing a constant dose of the particular madness that is Faire!
Hang out with us on the general board some time............you'll see what I mean! ;D
Love, Dill

Keeping in contact with the faire family keeps me sane. Even just a "I miss you" or a simple "Hey!" in a text or message or what not.
Hopefully it'll get easier adjusting to normal life next year after faire.
I cannot wait for next Summer.

The first "this" Robinson (The Highwayman) made. I think he re-did it because something happened to the music. The second "this" I am pretty sure Alexa Rose made. (Maybe it was Melissa, confused now.)

Well to stave off the withdrawls I try to bankrupt myself by going to other faires that run earlier and later than GLMF. Spending time looking at other faires I want to go to and how I can go there. Figuring out work schedules with faires and dates and accommodations etc. I have also enjoyed going to feasts, such as the one Bunnie was so kind to mention, that are plentiful enough to find around the holidays. That too only satiates the faire desire for short periods. This is a great time to think of and work on a new character or a new garb project. I know ... "but I don't know how to... sew/jewelry making/ leather work ... etc. We have learned that with practice and patience you can create or embellish all kinds of garb and accessories. Start out easy and you will learn and build on your skills. We also love the thrill of hunt for garb or materials for garb and accessories at thrift stores. We have been beading Kim's dress. Let me tell you it has actually been fun to sit down with some music on and spend time together. If I'm not at faire I can working on making next year even better.

Well, I won a pair of airline tickets in a charity raffle at work a week ago.. Current plan is Arizona Renaissance Festival in March. Phoenix means 70's at the time we're *really* sick of the snow!!
So this year, I'll be able to get my faire fix in a way I wouldn't have available normally!! Possibly the best $20 I ever spent!

BB, Congrats!
To fight withdrawal I communicate with my faire friends via online forums and social networking sites. I also sew and listen to a lot of faire music while making garb.
The past couple of years I've been fortunate enough to attend earlier faires (BARF in FL and Tennesee) and am planning to go to one or both again this year.
