" Pirate Dave was MUCH more noticable as he stood on the back row of the bleachers!"
If you mean making incessant noise then yes, he was more noticable. Please no more senseless booing, only cheering!

We definitly enjoyed the new "fight" too. It was the first time for the cast (besides the fighters) to see it as well. I was laughing so hard! It was great.

I would just like Larry and everyone involved with/in the chess match to know that they are doing an amazing job. I caught it for the first time this past Sunday and I was VERY impressed!
I've been on cast or psuedo-cast for 6 yrs now and I don't think I've had a chess match blow my mind like this one has. I remember an all-cast stunt show from many years ago that has always stuck out in my memory as amazing, but this is the first chess match to make me re-evaluate my favorites.
Everyone did a phenomenal job: Gratz!

The fights really DO look as bad ass as everyone says.

The following is my own personal opinion. It should in no way be interpreted as the opinion of the Pickle Grove, or my cousins, Dillasandra and Poison Ivy. Finally saw the chess match this last weekend. The combat and choreography kick ass!! The bit with Gawain and Camilla was hysterical, and the "puppet" fight between Merlin and Morgana was brilliant. In fact, I preferred the combat to most of the dialogue. Call me a snob (I'm a lapsed English major and I work for a theater), but the dialogue made me cringe. Stale and overblown cheese corn, sorry, but that's how it sounded to me. I don't expect the wit of Shakespeare and I know it's geared to the general public, but still, I think the script could have been better. Just my own humble opinion. Other than that, I loved all the performances. Everybody did a great job! And I cheered for the bad guys for all I was worth!

Everyone is indeed entitled to their own opinion, but just for the record, the above comments are NOT those of the Pickle Grove and/or Goddessi in general! Ivy loved the chess match, and I've never seen it, but so far, have heard nothing but good things!
Well.....all except about Mordred.....................( And YES, that's a joke! ;D)

I am glad you liked the fights and bits I choreographed. As for the dialogue, you can't please everyone. We do hammer home the ideals of honor & chivalry but I really believe in them. It wasn't just a catchy line. Most combat chessmatches rely solely on the strength of their fights to make the show. I want the fights and the dialogue to help tell a story, in this case its the classic Good will triumph over Evil. Thanks for everyones feedback it helps me make the show better. Do not miss the last w/e blow out! We have some big surprises planned!

My opinion of the chess match as a whole and my opinion of the dialogue are two different things. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire performance, everyone did a spectacular job. I just think the dialogue could have been better, and still tell the story and convey the ideals. That's all.
Sounds like fun, I will be there!
Referencing Dillasandra's post, I was expressing my own opinion, nobody else's. My apologies to my cousin Ivy if she mistook it otherwise.

My sincerest apologies, but in sooth I must interrupt this thread with an important and serious announcement. The above is my original post of my opinion on the chess match. It was and is intended as my own personal opinion, not that of the Pickle Grove or my cousins, or anybody else for that matter. Despite this, my cousin Poison Ivy has misinterpreted it as representing herself and the Grove. I have publicly, on this board, apologized for any misunderstanding. But she is demanding I delete it, or else. I will not. I stand by my opinion, as my own. This is a free, democratic country. And no one, her or anybody else, has ever or will ever be the boss of me, in faith or sooth. I do apologize for making all of this public, but I feel it is necessary. I also apologize for any unpleasantness that may be the result of this decision. And finally, all my profound apologies to my dear cousin Dillasandra, who, like me, must suffer the consequences of this decision. But I do believe it is the right decision make under the circumstances. The die is cast. Thank you all for your patience. I now return you to your regularly scheduled "Chess Game" thread, already in progress...
