It may not have been snowing down in "Hothsburg", but it was briefly snowing in Painesville, right around 4:30PM. Seemed so absurd I started laughing hysterically!
Oh yes, wasn't first time today I was surprised by what I saw outside the window. Earlier in the day looked out my bedroom window and saw half a tree blocking the driveway. Seems one of our maples lost its head, literally. Fortunately missed both the vehicles parked out there. Ironically enough, this morning my father had gotten quotes on getting some trees trimmed and taken down. That particular tree was one of the ones he was going to keep!

Well, based on these random snow reports I got a feeling we will be resurrecting the "How much Snow" thread before too long. I know it is not that unusual to have snow before Halloween but I don't think anybody is ready for it just yet. Guess I better get the mower deck off and the plow on pretty soon. Damn! I'm not ready for winter just yet.
Jasmine...Sorry to hear about your tree, but you were lucky it missed the cars. You're already down one (the Saturn) ya sure don't need another one squashed like a bug. HANK.

We had a little touch of snow. (Cleveland...Lakeshore and 185th.)
My son at Ashland University called and said they pretty much had white out conditions.
I remember (100 yrs ago) trick or treating in the snow a couple of times. Terrible for the costumes.
(Sorry about your tree. At least you sound like you all are fine.)

Heck it wasn't that long ago. We have video of Britny trick-or-treating in a snow storm when she was 3.

Trick-or-treating in the snow, yeah, I recall that too...a number of times! Of course, I grew up in the heart of the snowbelt, so we were kind of used to those things. I can remember a number of times hiding Easter eggs in snow drifts, too! The worst one was the night before Easter back ( WAAAAAAAAAAY back!!!) when I was a teenager, and hid all the eggs, candy, etc. outside for my younger siblings to find early the next morning before my Dad came to pick them up for the day. (Broken home thing and all!) This was our usual modus operendi on such occasions, except, THIS time, Mother Nature treated us to a freak spring snowstorm overnight!!! The kids woke up the next morning to find all of their Easter goodies buried under a foot and a half of snow! Fortunately I'd remembered where most everything was, and we had a grand little adventure digging it out.( Funny how things like that are adventures as kids, and a pain in the ass as adults!) Dad arrived at the appointed time to find us all soaked, frozen, and laughing our heads off! And we never DID find a few of those eggs until June! Needless to say, one of my more memorable holiday memories.

It ticks me off when it snows, but the snow doesn't stick. Then it's just like a slow cold rain. What's the point?
I want it to pile up REALLY high so I can make Calvin and Hobbes-style snowmen!!! The ones holding their own surprised heads, or the ones with 3 heads, or the ones with a tree growing out of their stomachs, or the ones holding protest signs.... *GLEEEEEEEE*
If it's GOTTA get cold, then it owes me LOTS OF SNOW DAMMIT! Grrr.

I MISS Calvin and Hobbes! I REALLY miss the demented snowmen. I do belive, however, that I'll let YOU have the fun of MAKING them, and I'll just enjoy them from INSIDE, where it's WARM!!! My snowman making days were quite a while ago! ( Altho, just for the record, I came up with more than a few warped ones myself!) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Hey Hepzibah! Even more fun than spoiling the grandkids...teach them REALLY rotten tricks and then send them home.....payback for all the horrible things your kids put you through!!! Not that I ever had grandkids-you really have to have had kids first!-but I DO have nieces and a nephew. You can bet I had MORE than a little fun getting back at my brothers when I babysat! And the best part? The kids LOVED it! I will forever be known as the COOL aunt! Failing spontanious grandkids tho, since neither of us has a life, what say we go out some time and cause a little trouble??!!? Or a LOT of it...............................................

Hey Tempsest, I'll help you out with those snowmen. I prefer winter to summer anyways. Summer heat and humidity really tick me off.

Or Dill tell them all the bad things that Mommy or Daddy use to do so they can go home and pull the same crap on them. If I also had grandkids. None yet unless you count girlfriends kids which in a way I do sorta. Still a little new though plus been thur it before just to have them breakup. Hard. I bet we could cause some trouble. My middle name is trouble John tells me but I say "Who Me"

Last year all I wanted to do was make Calvin and Hobbes snowmen, and to slide down this hill on cafeteria trays. But we only had ONE, repeat ONE, good snowfall, and I was so sick with mono I couldn't even get out of bed. In fact, mono in general ticks me off - I was locked in my room for 8 hours once and my roommate had left an America's Next Top Model Marathon on the TV. I didn't have the strength to get out of bed and turn it off, and none of my friends could get in my room to help. I was praying for death.
