Yeah , got to agree with Ivy and Hank . After too damned many years of just too much s*** , I've learned not to sweat the small stuff . ( Not that it doesn't piss me off mind, but I've learned to just roll my eyes , growl a few obscenities, and laugh it off . )
But GODS do I HATE people who think the universe is a friendly place !!!!! It's NOT, people, trust me ! Better to just assume it from the start..... less of a letdown that way. Or maybe I'm just a jaded old bitch?!! Anyway, if you MUST be shiny and happy, PLEASE don't do it near me!
Oh, one other thing that irritates me.........furry, rumpled CAT BUTTS blocking my screen and sitting on the mouse !!!!!! Rowan, GET DOWN!!!! ( Oh yeah, like that'll work. )
Rowan says djghkzjc xjka dkncjkw zlsomkdkf aklvmxk dx qm !

The universe is not always the friendliest place, but it's best not to assume anything about anything, good or bad. Tends to keep us from seeing what is really there. Remember, the first part of "assume" is "ass".

Actually Hank. It would probably fit in a 'newer' home. By code, doorways are wider now than they used to be. New appliances are designed with the newer wider doors in mind.
I hear you though. I have a set of box springs that just will not go up our stairs, or fit through any windows upstairs either.

Neither of our cats get on the computer desk. You can't keep them off of everything, but if you concentrate on a few key areas, you can train them to stay away.

Love ya Jasimine, dearly, but I speak from far too much experince, as well you know ( probably better than anyone ).I live by the old axiom " Forewarned is forearmed," and as to your "first part of assume is ass," quite frankly, I'd rather end up looking like an ass than get mine kicked! And hey Trevor? That cat thing was a joke! Not that mine don't run my life- they do- but in Row's case, he's just hanging out keeping mom company and trying to "help." Actully, he's quite a good little keyboarder. In fact, he's wanting to add something now. Note from Rowan William to Trevor, as follows ;erk,ax;lofk asold=d09d [x[a ;dlf7897676cm dqwkf jkk qqqqqqqqq jrilkc dk fkkflsyvrjg9w, didfjvnhe r05jg b f&&& gtjk kasfnj5%%$#@@kdwwjkn . Translated, that reads.... You only THINK you've "trained your cats, buddy!!!!! Take it from an authority, when you ain't looking, they're ALL over that keyboard, sending messages to all their little kitty friends, downloading kitty porn and quite probably hacking into the governments computer systems and trippling your income taxes because you refused to share that tuna sandwich the other day! They're just simply too damned smart to let you know it!

Gotta agree with ya Dill. The cat is probably on the computer to PetSmart ordering up a ton of Meow Mix. You know. MEOW MEOW MEOW MEOW. I have the same problem at the moment. Sinker is laying in front of the screen thereby making moving of the mouse almost impossible. I thought cats were suppose to be aloof and finicky, this one is a leech! HANK.

Where did anyone EVER get the idea that cats are 'aloof and finicky'??!! ? Talk about your old wive's tale! I've lived with cats literally from day one (that's 47 years and counting now) and somehow every last one of them have missed that memo ! I'm currently sharing my life, my soul, my living space, and my finances, (such as they are) with 10 of the evil little ratmonkeys, and not a one of 'em has a CLUE what 'aloof' even means!( Well, okay, Rowan and Raven probably do, I caught them reading the dictionary the other day.......but that's pretty much par for the course for those two!) Even Chance, my rescue guy who lived wild for 6 of his 8 years, hasn't a clue. Of course, he LIVED WILD for 6 years, and the boy ain't stupid! He's got it made now and knows it! All of the ten sleep with me, hang around me and follow me everywhere like some furry, wiseass entourage! Rowan especially has to be everywhere I am and "help"me, 'specially around the computer or when I'm cooking.( that last,of course, is purely self serving!) All of which is not to say that they aren't all as a species intrinsicsally evil, rotten, sneaky, underhanded, and way, WAY smarter than we are! This proven by the fact that they've got us wrapped around their nasty little paws DESPITE the fact that they're intrinsically evil, rotten sneaky and underhanded! Just not aloof. Never aloof! Okay, Rowan has just informed me in no uncertian terms that it's time and past to stop playing around here and come sit down in HIS favorite chair so that he can take a nap on me. ( Cats love fat people, we make nice soft beds!) He also says that due to the medieval nature of the board, from now on he will be refered to as SIR Rowan!!!! (did I mention arrogant, pushy and rude ?!) At least I have the dubious comfort of knowing that there are others out there like Hank and Bunnie who fully understand the nature of my slavery !!...djg vbjk il;gfkrlpriowopoiopsd!!!!!!!!! GEEZE!! OKAY! I'm comming..........

What really ticked me off today was the parents of small children taking them kicking and screaming into Spensers to see the Halloween stuff. Poor kids were scared half to death and the parents thought it was funny to take them in to show them the scary stuff.. tonight when those kiddos are too afraid to sleep for seeing the monsters and such i bet those parents will be yellin and paddling the little ones for not going to bed.

I love you dearly, too, Kathy, but no one is an expert at life regardless of how much experience you have. Past experience can be useful as long as you don't have it carved in stone. Life always has something new for us to deal with and situations can change. When you forget that, you end up getting your ass kicked anyways, no matter how "forewarned" you think you are. Remember your experiences, but always keep an open mind. Also remember you have a car and a roof over your head right now. If life were always unfriendly you wouldn't have those, and might not even be around. Might want to take a break from what's wrong in your life and take a look at what's good in your life right now.

Back on the subject of what ticks me off. When a TV program is not on when the schedule says it's supposed to be. And when the network cuts up your favourite program because a sporting event ran over or they need to run their precious infomercials. I've seen a couple of Stargate episodes where I could tell they cut it up and I'd never even seen episode before. Cut so much out of it, made no sense at all.

Hey. I resemble that statement. Britny used to be really afraid of stuff like that when she was like 2 or 3. Not only did her brother love to torment her with halloween masks when we were at Kmart or whatever, but I too used to drag her into the halloween sections of stores. It's how I got her over her fear. By showing her the stuff was make believe and completely safe. IT was also funnier than hell to watch her ractions too It's also one of the reasons I love halloween. The only time of the year that you can scare the crap out of kids and their parents don't get upset. Kids need to be scared every now and them. (in moderation of course) Some of my most vivid older memories are things that scared me. Staying up late watching horror movies on TV. My cousin convincing me there was a ghost in my closet when I was 5. My grandmother telling us bedtime stories like the Creature From the Black Lagoon, and Jack I Want My Liver back (this was also the same woman who would beg me to stay up and watch Nightgallery with her when I was little and spending the night) Heck, I still remember a few really scary houses when I was trick-or-treating way back when I was like 5 or 6.

Jasmine, (reply 56) I'm with ya 100% on that one girl. It totally P***es me off when the TV guide, or the newspaper says a show is suppose to be on at xyz time and you set up the VCR to record it and find out later it was preempted for some stupid reason. As for sporting events, thank goodness most of them are going to there "own" channels these days. I believe most football games are now on the NFL channel or something like that, with just a few shown on the network. What a blessing to those of us to whom football is not the almighty God to be worshiped 24/7. Didn't baseball go mostly to ESPN also? I saw a commercial for Dish network (I think) where you can get football 24/7. Now, you must be watching a lot of reruns cuz I don't think the NFL is playing that many games. HANK.

Spoken like someone who's never had to make it on her own!
You're nearly 40 and you're still living at home with daddy. Go out and get some life experience, then maybe you'll gain the right to lecture people.
(Remember when I said I couldn't stand "shiny happy" people.....)

Hey Steph, Never meant to imply that I was an expert.....gods know if I were, I'd probably be doing better at this!!!! And never think that I take that whole roof/car thing for granted.I'm forever grateful, as I hope the both of you realize. ( My apologies to you both if not- I've never been very good at that sort of thing.) I'm well aware of what I DO have, and equally well aware that things could be worse. Guess I just wish things would lighten up a little and give us all a break! And on that note, you'll excuse me while I go and seperate a couple of the "things I do have" before they kill each other! ( Rowan and Nim at it again ... Sigh! ) I do SO love cats! AAAARUGHHH!!!!!%$$$#@**&))%$$%$;;#@??>:"<$%%%#@!!!!! ROWANNNNNNNN..........................................................
