Well. Final weekend has come and gone.
Faire for this season is now over.
Saturday was rather subdued and normal. The only real difference is there were a lot more former cast members stopping by to visit.
Areal Angels were in the shire, and put on a good show.
Maidens IV were back, and all over the place. I saw them on their stage. I saw them on the street by Mother Wisdom. I saw them jamming with Lisa, John, and several other musicians. It was very cool.
Sunday was much more crowded. Even more old friends. No changes to the shows like in previous years. I kind of missed that, but I also agree with the thinking that even though it was final weekend, the shows should be the same. That way someone who only came on the last day, would see the same thing as soeone who came opening weekend.
The jail was busy all day though. It was the first time I have been arrested,
There is more, but I am tired and need to get to bed. Been up for over 24 hours. Will post again tonight.

I'm sorely disappointed I couldn't come for The Last Day, so Saturday was mine. On a personal level, Avaloch has brought me some of the dearest summer friends, and it is so terribly hard to say farewell. As a Fair patron, Avaloch has for 12 years brought me such joy, in the people, the vendors' wares, the laughter and the music. And as a long-time Fair Junkie, it's been an honor to be recognized and welcomed by so many cast and crew as a valuable guest.
My probably-not-final notes on the 2006 season (which went by so much faster than previous seasons - why is that??):
Garbage guys, privy fairies, parking crew, food vendors, and all the other "invisible" people who make the place run - saying thanks is not enough. Villagers and cast members, you filled the streets with laughter and good cheer. And dancing ;D!!! Traveling entertainers, you brought me joy with your music, laughter with your antics. Laura, Larry, John, Tom, and all the other management staff, this year was the beginning of the Restoration of the Great Lakes Medieval Fair, and God willing, every summer will get better, more packed, and more profitable.
"I will always remember your kindness to me."

Trevor - Thank you for being such a wonderful and gracious ambassador to the refugees from Pittsburgh! And PLEASE PLEASE accept my humble apology for calling your daughter Brigit the entire time! I see your posts with the photos where you refer to her as Brit - I guess I just added the extra letters on my own. Extend my apology to her as well.
So sorry I was not there on Sunday, but I had an awesome time Saturday. I took a lot of great photos the past two weekends which I plan to post sooner or later. I hope to enter a few in this years photo contest. Maybe I'll get lucky. I got some great shots of Robin and Will doing something of a male dance revue at the jail. FUNNY!
This is such a great faire! I really think that had the former ownership of GPRF taken some pointers from GLMF, it may have survived/prospered.
If GPRF opens its gates next year - we will be sure to welcome all of our friends from GLMF with open arms and raised tankards!

6 weeks of festival is much to short. 2 months would be good for me and I believe I speak for the rest-yes? no? Do I see a show of hands? Applause? Louder?
Thanks for a wonderful season, this indeed was a great season, much more relaxed, cast very good, no pressures. John and Tom did an EXCELLANT Job!
Huzzah to the both of the fine gentlemen.
Was this a peek into the 07 season?
If it is lookout!
Here we go thru withdrawels..this is the part that sux. On that note, sundays will remain mundane.
Thanks GLMF staff and all the uberpatrons that make it what it is!

I see your posts with the photos where you refer to her as Brit - I guess I just added the extra letters on my own. Extend my apology to her as well. Don't worry about it. I didn't even realize you were doing it for the longest time until someone pointed it out to me. It really doesn't bother me. It was great getting to meet you and everyone else from GPRF. With any luck, it'll be back open soon. *crosses fingers* The season really went by too quickly. I can't believe it's already over. But it was a wonderfull season. So much fun was had. I got locked up for the first time Sunday. And then an hour later, got locked up again. It was great to see all the people from previous season coming back and visiting. I want to thank the cast and staff for working hard to make this a great season. *Huggles*

Yeah...Scarlett couldn't even get my name right for about 3 weekends! Yes...this year was way too fast, but at the same time I am glad it is over because I have entirely too much crap to do at home on the weekends now. And I would like to extend a HUZZAH to the cast, crew, merchants, and entertainers. As usual, they worked thier arses off. And finally...congrats to Alan Adale and the butcher on thier engagement, and congrats to the future Mr. and Mrs. Penfold Pox...may they have many little rats of thier own in the future. Looking forward to Michigan, possibly ORF...

Yeah...Scarlett couldn't even get my name right for about 3 weekends! ... Well, since you brought it up dear Geoffrey - yes, I sometimes bungle names! Geoffrey - Gregory. Brigit - Britny. At least Gregory is aan actual person! Although I probably would have found a Brigit eventually! See that Brit - you'e in good company! Me and Morwyn have a tentative date of 9/30 for ORF. Never been there before. Gotta travel for my faire fix since GPRF closed.

Well, we can get to know you here in the meantime. And stay in touch. We do have various get-togethers we try to plan during the off season. Meet and great's in the spring. I know there is a Halloween party being planned for early October (will bump that thread up this coming weekend to remind everyone)
It truely was a magical season.
I got to meet so many more great people this year. And get re-aquainted with all my old friends. I had the great pleasure of meeting the travelers from Pittsburgh and hope to get to visit them at their own faire again next year [keeping fingers crossed for you guys] Scarlett, do not worry about goofing up my daughter's name. We really did find it quite funny, and were not offended at all. As a matter of fact, my daughter is considering using that for a persona next year. She will have another year of French under her belt and is considering being a french character.
To all who won't be back next year. You will be missed, greatly missed. But real life does get in the way, I do not begrudge you following your dreams. Hope all goes well in your life, and hope you can find the time to visit us occasionally. You will never be forgotten though.

Hephzibah, dear Lady, it was wonderful to finally meet you!!!!! Simon de Montfort and Lady Montfort, twas a pleasure meeting you as well. Trevor, it was great to see you, hope the jailors cut you some slack! LOL! And Master Griffin, wherever you are, my cousin sends many thanks to you. I know not if you remember us, but we were the three women with the two small girls walking in front of you as you were heading to your booth at the end of the day on Sunday. I believe you gave the children some small trinkets, and their mother was touched by your kindness. This was their first visit to the faire, and they will be returning next year! Thanks again, you made a special day even better! This was a wonderful season, can't wait to see what the next year will bring!
