Master, I have a question of utmost importance.
Britny and I are having a disagreement. Which weighs more. The short swords or the long swords
She says the long swords are heavier. I say the short swords are.. I can swing those long swords all day long, but the short sword get heavy real quick.

Not that helpfull. I am talking specifically about the swords that sword school has.
Normally, a short sword would be lighter than a longsword. But with their swords I do not think that holds true. The short swords have such big, thick blades, and the long swords, while possibly being a little pomel heavy have very light, thin blades.

I agree with Britny - the long swords are definately heavier.... but we should wait for the Master's response I suppose.

DEAR TREVOR,
HMMM... NOW THAT IS A GOOD QUESTION, AND IT DESERVES A GOOD ANSWER, THAT BEING SAID I WILL GIVE YOU MY ANSWER... IT DOESN'T MATTER IF ONES WEAPON SEEMS TOO HEAVY ONE SHOULD TRAIN MORE UNTILL THE WEAPON SEEMS AS LIGHT AS A FEATHER AND IS A NATURAL EXTENSION OF THE ARM, SO IT CAN BE USED ALL DAY WHEN THE ZOMBIES ATTACK.

are you wielding each weapon with only one hand or are you comparing the one-handed long sword to holding 2 short swords each in one hand?

Perhaps the long sword just seems lighter because it is a slashing weapon and the short sword is a thrusting weapon. When wielding the long sword the momentum and centrifugal force makes it feel lighter as it is swung and the work is distributed over more muscle groups where as the short sword's weight is born by fewer muscles and the back and forth thrusting is not alleviated by inertia.

Have you seen the sword school short swords? They aren't really thrusting weapons. They are more like machetes.
