Has the MIRF troupe actually contracted with GLMF yet? There's been nothing confirmed by the Faire staff, and it's just that it's getting so close to faire time...I'd hate to see everything fall through at the last minute and have no joust!

Didn't someone say something about local children on tricycles with broom handles? True...the wheels could get stuck in soft sandy ground...

As we draw closer to faire, I'm not surprised that Brook hasn't had the time to post yet. I don't want to steal his thunder, but I'm just as excited about this as all of you guys are. ;D Brook informed the cast on Sunday that the jousting troupe from MRF, including Greg Oatley, etc., and Larry have finally signed the contracts and will be at Great Lakes this year. Personally, I'm thrilled that these guys are coming back. They do put on a good show, and I can't imagine Greg and Brian ~NOT~ hitting hard. Seriously, these are four of the best/most experienced jousters in North America! Plus, they have seemed more willing to play with those of us on cast than most of the New Riders troupe. Speaking of the cast, I'll stick my neck out a little and say that we are shaping up nicely. It is a good deal smaller than the last couple of years number-wise; looking to be about 50+, compared to over 80 last year. However, the newbs are coming up to speed quickly, and the returning cast is stepping up from last year too. With far fewer stage shows to worry us, look for much bigger street stuff (including scripted stuff) this year. And while it's still in early stages, the chess match is starting to look kick-@ss. Greg / King Arthur

Greg / King Arthur I don't think you are sticking your neck out at all. I have been there on the weekends and seen some of the stuff you guys are doing. While I don't know any of the details I do know I see a lot of excitement and energy in the cast as a whole. And everyone is having lots of fun. I am positive that that will translate into the street performances this season. And as you said, though a smaller troupe than last year, without the stage commitments I think cast will be more noticable overall.

Trust me, this group seems as big as last years. Even though they are fewer in number they are very noticable.

Yes, it is official. Contracts signed and sealed.
Brothers in Armes will be our joust company.
Greg Oatley - You'll remember him as Collin McCleaod the "Bad Guy" Jeff Horrick - Sir Roderick from years past and once our King Richard during the robin hood years.
And several others.
